Terms of Service
These terms set out how Johnson Locksmith Inc. quotes, attends and charges for locksmith work, what we require before opening any door, and what happens if a job cannot be completed. They apply to work booked by phone or through this website.

Who these terms are with
Services are provided by Johnson Locksmith Inc., an Ontario corporation at 6375 Dixie Rd #207b, Mississauga, ON L5T 2E7, Canada. Booking work by phone, by using the enquiry form, or by allowing a technician to begin work, means you accept these terms.
Quotes and pricing
We give a total figure, including the callout, before a technician is dispatched, and we will send it to you by text on request. That figure is based on what you describe. If the job on arrival is materially different, for example the cylinder is a high security type rather than a standard one, a key has broken off inside the lock, or the cylinder is seized and needs replacing, we will tell you before continuing and you may decline.
Under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002, a consumer generally may not be charged more than ten percent above an estimate they agreed to. We do not intend to rely on that margin: our practice is that the quoted number is the invoiced number unless you agree in advance to a revised figure.
Prices are in Canadian dollars and exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Parts and hardware are quoted separately from labour and itemised on the invoice.
Proof of ownership or authority
We will not open any door, vehicle, unit, cabinet or container without satisfactory evidence that you are entitled to entry. This is a condition of service and it is not waived on request, at any hour, for any customer.
- Residential: photo identification matching the address, or a lease, utility bill, or confirmation from a landlord or property manager.
- Commercial: photo identification plus evidence linking you to the business at that address, such as a lease, a corporate registration, a utility bill or a pay stub. Where the caller is an employee rather than an owner or director, we may require an owner or director to confirm by phone.
- Vehicles: a driver's licence plus a vehicle permit, insurance document, lease agreement or rental agreement.
If satisfactory evidence cannot be produced, we will not proceed. A callout charge may still apply where a technician has attended.
Work we will not carry out
We will not disable, bypass, chain or otherwise interfere with an exit device, fire door or any other means of egress, because doing so contravenes the Ontario Fire Code and endangers life. Where a business has a genuine security problem with an exit door, we will propose a compliant alternative.
We will not open or rekey Canada Post community mailboxes, which are Canada Post property. We will not carry out work that we reasonably believe is intended to give someone access to a property or vehicle they are not entitled to enter, and we may decline any job at our discretion.
Attendance and timing
Arrival windows are honest estimates based on your location, current traffic and the work already scheduled. They are estimates, not guarantees. We do not promise a fixed number of minutes, because no locksmith can honestly do so across a city the size of Mississauga.
Damage and non destructive entry
Our practice is to open locks without damage wherever the lock allows it. Certain locks cannot be opened non destructively: a seized cylinder, one that has already been forced, a high security cylinder with a restricted keyway, or one with a key snapped inside. Where destructive entry is the only option, we will explain it and quote the replacement before any work begins, and we will proceed only with your agreement.
Where a door, frame, vehicle or lock is already damaged, worn or defective before we attend, we are not responsible for pre existing conditions or for failures arising from them.
Payment
Payment is due on completion unless credit terms have been agreed in writing. You will receive an itemised invoice carrying our legal business name and street address. Where a job requires ordered parts, a deposit may be requested and will be stated before the order is placed.
Cancellation
You may cancel a callout at any time before a technician arrives, and there is no charge if you do so before the technician has been dispatched. Once a technician has attended the address, a callout charge may apply even if the work is not carried out, including where entry is refused for want of proof of authority.
For goods or services agreed at your home rather than at our premises, Ontario consumer protection law may give you additional cancellation rights. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002.
Warranty
Labour is warranted against defective workmanship for a reasonable period from completion. Hardware carries whatever warranty its manufacturer provides, and we will pass those details on. The warranty does not cover subsequent damage, misuse, forced entry attempts, or hardware supplied by you rather than by us.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002. Subject to that, our liability arising from any job is limited to the amount paid for that job, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost business, lost profit or loss of data.
